B.S Rajeev is a name which cannot be defined by all metaphors, adjectives and comparisons taken together. This unique versatile and extraordinary personality is ‘one of the rarest of the rare’ among the entire human kind.
BS Rajeev Trust - the edifice of which is built on the Immortal pedestal of Education, Art and Culture announces the commencement of its WEBINAR Series on the multi-dimensional aspects of education - exploring accessibility to higher education and designing employability for Graduate and post graduate students including Professional Graduates.
This unique versatile and extraordinary personality is ‘one of the rarest of the rare’ among the entire human kind. He surpasses all titles which can be conferred upon him. It is the name not of a human being but of a human institution – an epitome of love, compassion, affection, knowledge, brotherhood, truth, wisdom, self sacrifice and all virtues with untainted purity and divinity. He had a celestial halo around him which always was a real solace and strength to many people especially the downtrodden. His glittering and never-fading smile possessed a magical power to conquer even his political opponents.
As an untarnished politician, social activist, disciplined teacher, skilled organizer, and eloquent speaker with a scintillating and melodious voice, a voracious reader, a gifted writer and an astute academic scholar, he had inspired the youth with much magnitude and amplitude. He will always remain as a ‘role model’ for the present generation and for generations to come.
Born into a family of teacher parents Sri. V. Balakrishna Pillai and Smt. P Thankamma he remained a bright and brilliant student all through his student life. His political life began from his school days. The active SFI leader of yesteryears had transformed into a “real communist leader” of today carving out a name of his own which shall ever remain with all charm, fragrance and lustre in the pages of history directing the youth to choose the best and righteous in life. As a school boy he was much influenced by Gandhian ideologies which had a great impact through out his life and very often he is called a “Gandhian communist” - a political saint renouncing and declining all parliamentary hopes and positions.
The most important happened when he was arrested and detained in prison as a political detenue for a long time during 1975 Emergency. He was the youngest among those who were arrested and detained. He was hardly nineteen years at that time doing his BA Degree course at University College, Trivandrum.
From Student Federation of India (SFI) leadership he took the reigns of the youth movement Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI). During his tenure as DYFI president (Trivandrum) voice of the youth was heard and accepted by all walks of life. He was member of Kerala State Youth Welfare Board After that he had been an active CPI (M) leader, a puritan communist in all sense. In between his hectic political schedule, he found time to engage in cultural activities and was Chairman of ‘Samagra’ a cultural organization and had conducted many colourful and exquisite programmes under the banner of Samagra.
During that period he contributed much in moulding out Kerala University into a centre of excellence with his astounding academic acumen and intelligence. As Syndicate Member he was a source of inspiration not only to the student community but to the faculty and the entire University.
He had a graceful term as Member Secretary of Karunakaran Memorial Nursing College and College of Management and Technology. During this period he had inculcated among the nursing fraternity the spirit of nursing with all its professional nobility, humanism and philanthropic magnificence.
To cherish those values and dreams envisaged by him, “B.S RAJEEV Social, Educational and Cultural Trust” is formed and registered. It is created not for a transient period of time; but it is a permanent one which should stand the test of time as a light-house shedding and spreading its light to all fields of life and all sections of people. B. S Rajeev is a man who lived a life not for him; but for others …… for others only. He never aspired to be a king; but always remained and kingmaker.
“What a piece of work is a man
How noble in reason,
How infinite in faculty , in form, in moving,
How express and admirable in action ………”
